Suburban Indianapolis man convicted of killing brother

BROWNSBURG, Ind. (AP) - A central Indiana man faces sentencing next month after being convicted of killing a brother he that he had shared an apartment with.

A Hendricks Superior Court jury deliberated about 90 minutes before finding Justin Brabson guilty of murder on Thursday. He faces 45 to 65 years in prison when he's sentenced June 26.

Thirty-year-old Christopher Brabson was found dead last June 9 in his Brownsburg apartment. He had been shot 11 times. Justin Brabson, who was 28 at the time, was arrested three days later at a Crawfordsville motel.

Court records show both of Christopher Brabson's parents told police he suffered from mental illness and was frustrated with his living situation.

Brownsburg police said it was the suburban Indianapolis town's first homicide since 2006.
