CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Young people in southern Illinois will be able to learn about the footlights and environmental sustainability this summer at a camp.

The (Carbondale) Southern Illinoisan reports (http://bit.ly/2qoKC65 ) a youth program called Eco Theater Camp will help participants learn about lessening their impact on the ecosystem while learning about the stage.

The camp is hosted by the Libre Unschool. It's a nonprofit organization that also manages the popular Girls Rock Carbondale program.

Organizers say Eco Theater Camp will work to spur imagination. It's open to anyone aged 10 to 18.

The two-week camp will be at Washington Street Gardens, the Subsistence Kitchen and the Flyover Social Center. Lessons will be about environmentalism and improvisation.
