Softball: Kaneland's Jesionowski no-hits Sycamore
Aly Jesionowski fired a no-hitter in Kaneland's 3-0 win over Sycamore on Thursday in Northern Illinois Big XII East action.
Jesionowski struck out 14 batters and walked three. She also had a big day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Hailey Roach also had 2 hits and drove in a run for Kaneland (8-4-1), who scored all three of its runs in the sixth inning.
Cary-Grove 17, Crystal Lake Central 4: Katy Wierczorek went 3-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI for the Trojans. Kelly Johnson doubled twice and also drove in three runs.
Leadoff hitter Alina Krembuszewski went 3-for-4 and scored four runs. Emma Hill had 2 hits, and Alyssa Gurgone and Victoria Beatty both drove in two runs.
Dundee-Crown 4, Crystal Lake South 1: Ruggles earned the win, striking out nine and scattering six hits and six walks.
Deanna Origer and Jessica McVicker both had 2 hits for the Chargers. Ruggles, Claire Weeks, Andrea Conway and Hannah Gestrich drove in runs.
Carly Chovanec went 3-for-3 for the Gators.
Hampshire 12, Jacobs 6: The Whip-Purs pounded 20 hits in the Fox Valley Conference win led by 4 each from Delaney Rummell and Sarah Bowen.
Morgan Haefling and Melissa Esparza both added 3 hits. Esparza drove in four runs and Renee Malecke knocked in three.
Rummell homered and Bowen doubled twice.
Jasmine Lopez earned the win, pitching the final 5 2/3 innings allowing just 1 run.
For Jacobs, Kerri Healy went 3-for-3. Savannah Svedman had 2 doubles and scored twice. Grace O'Malley went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.
