God divinely coordinated spring and Easter

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone; the new has come!”

— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)

They're back again! Another springtime and another Easter. I love how the hand of God divinely coordinated the two.

Spring brings the refreshment of green grass, rather than brown patches of dirt and hardened mud. Buds spring forth from barren tree branches and become alive with the prospect of new leaves to adorn the tree and remove its barren and deadly looking state. Flowers start to push their way through the soil to liven our senses to a scenery with multicolored blossoms.

In springtime the harsh, hard, cold northern winds are beginning to be replaced with the welcomed, warm south winds. Birds return to their northern habitat and start building their nests to lay eggs. Their songs can be heard in the morning hours, signaling the bright awakening to a new day.

We see the splendor of the renewal of nature all around us. It revitalizes our senses. Somehow, spring seems to come just when we need it most. When we feel tired and weary from dark, cold days of winter, spring suddenly appears.

When man needed a renewal in his spirit from sin's hardened and cold consequences, God brought about renewal. He sacrificed the life of his son, Jesus, on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins. Only someone pure and without sin could pay the penalty for us. This was God's plan of redemption and renewal for our sin-sick souls.

We only have to believe Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected to life again in order to receive the blessing of forgiveness and promise that brings eternal life with God. This makes us “new creatures.” This simply means through Christ's sacrifice we have a new relationship with God. All our old sins are behind us and as we surrender our former ways of living to conform to God's way of living, our hearts and minds become renewed as well.

This Easter, if you need a renewal in your soul, reach out to receive God's love, and ask him to renew your life … then allow the refreshment of springtime to fill your senses and your soul. Happy Easter!
