Mundelein High students raising money for leukemia patients

Mundelein High School's National Honor Society will conduct its second annual MHS Miracle Minute fundraiser from 9:20 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Friday, April 7, as part of a campaign called Pennies for Patients.

The organization raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. For one minute during homeroom Friday, students will be asked to donate any spare change they have and put it in a designated jar. Whichever homeroom raises the most money within that minute will receive doughnuts that same day.

Since its launch in 1994, Pennies for Patients has raised millions of dollars for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

"Help us beat our total of $1,400 from last year," NHS President McKenzie Theis said in a news release.
