Softball: Bartlett wins twice in Tennessee

Bartlett's softball team opened tournament play in Clarksville, Tenn., Friday with two wins.

The Hawks scored 6 runs in the top of the sixth inning in their opener to beat Goodpasture (TN) 6-4, then they downed Christian County, the No. 10 ranked team in Tennessee, 4-2.

In the win over Goodpasture, Elyse Hickey had a double and 2 RBI for the game-winning hit. Janelle Ulaszek added 2 hits and an RBI.

Amber Pagan came on in relief to earn the win in the circle.

Against Christian County, Ulaszek pitched a complete game, allowing 4 hits with 4 strikeouts. She also went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI as the Hawks moved to 4-2-1 for the season.

Kaneland 6, Grove City (OH) 2: Lexi Abruzzo had 3 hits including a double and an RBI as Kaneland concluded its spring trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., with a 6-2 win. Winning pitcher Aly Jesionowski (7 IP, 3 hits, 4 Ks, 3 BBs) also had 2 hits for the Knights (4-4) while Hailey Roach and Hannah Theobald added RBI.
