Model profile: Easton Station

Get on the track to Easton Station, a private enclave of 15 luxury townhouses in a commuter-friendly location in Buffalo Grove.

The David Weekley Homes community offers two- and three-story townhouses with three bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths, a balcony, basement and attached two-car garage.

This is the fastest-selling community in the area, said Richard Bridges, Chicago Division sales manager with David Weekley Homes. “Both styles have sold equally well, and we're pleased with the rate of sales.

“Buyers want to be in this ZIP code, and new construction in this area is difficult to find. A big attraction to the community is its great location near Stevenson High School, the train station and shopping.”

Other nearby amenities include the Arboretum Golf Club, Crane's Landing Golf Club and area parks, woodlands and green spaces maintained by the Buffalo Grove Park District.

The Kinney model home shows a professional interior by Margaret Gehr, interior design specialist with award-winning Chicagoland Home Staging.

A two-story design, the Kinney model is priced from $469,712 and features 2,071 square feet, three bedrooms, 2½ baths and an attached two-car garage.

A covered entry leads to an open-concept living space where the whole family will feel connected. In this area, Gehr features a neutral palette with a touch of ash, organic shapes and mixed metals, which she says are hot trends in today's home fashion.

The home features a classic line of furnishings to add luxury while keeping the home casual enough to appeal to today's buyer.

Ten-foot main-floor ceilings add spaciousness to the living space where light beige furnishings contrast with dark espresso, distressed-wood flooring. A corner fireplace, area rugs and a lot of artwork give the space a warm, inviting feel.

The kitchen area features mission-style white cabinetry, granite countertops and an island with sink and pendant lighting above. A dark wood dining table with chairs and a bench add a touch of rustic flair.

The model shows a first-floor master suite; however, with its placement on the second level, this space could be used as a guest room or recreation area.

Simple elegance reigns in the master bedroom where lighter linens and the soft palette create a restful space. The room features a deep tray ceiling, sitting area for reading or relaxing before bed, and a walk-in closet. The master bath offers split and raised-height vanities with oversized mirrors, soaker tub with ceramic tile surround and luxurious walk-in shower with seat.

On this level, an 8-foot glass door leads to the balcony.

The laundry room with sink and built-in cabinets resides on the second level along with two secondary bedrooms.

One bedroom has a cheerful vibe with a lot of bright colors while the other room features a leaf theme with green and white decor. A full hall bath with two sinks serves the bedrooms with private access from the second room, which would make a nice guest room.

The lower level offers the option of a fourth bedroom and third bath.

The second design offered at the community is the three-story Talcott floor plan, priced at $465,873 with 2,531 square feet, three bedrooms, 3½ baths and two-car attached garage.

To tour the model, visit the Welcome Center at 316 W. Half Day Road in Buffalo Grove. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. For more information, call (224) 836-4465.
