Candidate's energy, vision is needed
Although I don't typically write political endorsement letters, today is an exception. I felt compelled to share my reasons for endorsing John Skillman for Carpentersville Village President.
Most residents already know that John Skillman is a 30-year Carpentersville Fire Department veteran and retired fire chief. Many know him as a lifelong resident of Carpentersville. What residents should know, but may not, is that John is also honest and trustworthy. He is genuine and respected by his peers. Most of all, he is truly dedicated to the future health and well-being of the village his kids and grandkids call home.
For years John has been active in many community activities on a volunteer basis, because being involved means something to him. He has been a village Rotary Club member for several years, and he belongs to multiple fire chief associations and committees. Most importantly to me, though, is that for the past decade John has been a volunteer football coach for the Dundee-Crown Chargers freshman football team. That speaks volumes to me.
I wholeheartedly believe that John Skillman is the tireless force that Carpentersville needs today. He is 100 percent committed to breathing life and inspiration into the residents so desperately looking for change. We need his vision, we need his energy, and we need his focus. John Skillman deserves our votes.
