Portillo's to mark anniversary with 54-cent cake slice

Oak Brook-based Portillo's said Thursday it will offer a slice of its chocolate cake for 54 cents on Thursday, April 6, to mark the company's 54th anniversary.

The double-layer cake is baked fresh every morning, the company said.

The special offer is available at all restaurant locations, while supplies last, with a limit of one slice per customer. To find the nearest Portillo's location, visit www.portillos.com.

Portillo's fans also can visit www.portillos.com/freecake to receive a complimentary slice of the Famous Chocolate Cake on their birthday.

Originally founded in Villa Park in 1963, Portillo's has since expanded to 47 restaurants across several states.
