Baseball: Huntley's Reed no-hits Boylan

Cameron Reed threw a 5-inning no-hitter Wednesday as Huntley's baseball team rolled to a 13-0 nonconference win over Rockford Boylan.

Reed struck out 8 and walked 1.

Joe Rizzo had 2 hits and an RBI, Chris Costantino doubled with an RBI, Brad Model drove in 2 runs, Adam Smylie had 2 hits and 2 RBI, Keegan Garcelone drove in a run, Tyler Koss had 2 RBI, Matt Rodriguez an RBI and Jordan Goldstein doubled for the Red Raiders (5-1).

Jacobs 9, Grant 1: Iasn Oreskovich had 3 hits including a home run and 3 RBI to lead Jacobs (5-0) to a nonconference win. Mike Addante, Adam Kale (2B, RBI), Ryan McGorian (2 hits, 2B, 3 RBI) and Daniel Murray (2B, RBI) also contributed to the Golden Eagles' offense. Justin Lavrisa was the winning pitcher going 6 innings and allowing 4 hits with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.

Woodstock North 7, Streamwood 5: Adam Sojda had 2 doubles and 3 RBI for Streamwood (3-2) in this nonconference loss. Colin Caminitti added a double and Jose Aguilar had an RBI for the Sabres. Dan Kuehl was the losing pitcher.

Aurora Christian 11, East Aurora 5: MJ Stavola had 3 hits including a double and 3 RBI to lead the Eagles (2-3) to this nonconference win. Ethan Stoneberg (2B, 2 RBI), Sam Tickel (RBI), Tanner Dissell (2 RBI) and Eric Hernandez (RBI) also contributed for Aurora Christian. Robert Lewis picked up the pitching win, going 4⅔ innings and allowing 6 hits.

Bartlett 3, Prospect 1: Bartlett scored twice in the top of the sixth inning to pull out this nonconference win. Martin Moreno had 2 hits with a double and an RBI for the Hawks (3-2) while Joey Allen (RBI) and Ryan Temesvary doubled. Brandon Kendall went 6⅔ innings allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run with 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in earning the win on the mound. Ryan Sharko came on to get the final out and the save.

Notre Dame 1, Geneva 0: Dominic Guido had 2 hits for Geneva (3-2) in this nonconference loss. Graham Owen was the losing pitcher.

West Aurora 3, Metea Valley 2: The Blackhawks won their first game of the season behind a complete-game effort from Dustin Tomas, who allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits with 5 strikeouts and no walks. Cam Zimmerman drove in Jordan Perez with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Aric Johnson had 2 hits including a double for West Aurora (1-5) while Tomas and Alberto Martinez also had RBI.

CL South 11, Wauconda 0: The Gators remained undefeated as Andrew Engelking went 4 innings without allowing a hit. He struck out 6 and walked 1. Brian Fuentes had 2 hits including a home run and 3 RBI for Crystal Lake South (5-0) while Kory Olsen had 2 hits with a double, Ryan Parquette 2 hits with an RBI, Nick Wolski an RBI and Scott Skwarek 2 RBI.

Larkin 12, Marengo 3: Jackson Reuter and Andy Bonnot (2B) had 3 hits and 2 RBI each to lead Larkin (3-2) to a nonconference win. Also contributing for the Royals were Kobe Mounivong (2 RBI), Max Anderson (2 RBI), Micheal Rodriguez (RBI), Gunnar Boley (RBI) and Aaron Lazovick (2B).

Cary-Grove 4, Warren 3: Winning pitcher Ryan Ignoffo had 2 hits and Kevin Pedersen a double and 2 RBI for Cary-Grove (5-1) in its nonconference win. Ben Baruth also drove in a run for the Trojans.
