Springfield sister to receive health achievement award

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The Catholic Health Association of the United States will recognize a Springfield sister with a lifetime achievement award later this spring.

Sister Jomary Trstensky (joh-MARE'-ee truh-STEN'-skee) is chairwoman of the Hospital Sisters Ministries Board for the Springfield-based Hospital Sisters Health System .

The lifetime achievement award recognizes people who have devoted much of their lives to Catholic-based health care. It honors those who have mentored and inspired others. And it goes to people who have shown leadership beyond Catholic institutions to the local community and beyond.

The award will be presented at the Catholic Health Assembly in New Orleans in June.

Trstensky has spent more than 50 years in Catholic-based health care. Past roles include provincial superior of the American Province of the Hospital Sisters of St. Francis and HSHS president.
