Body found in Fox River identified

Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the Fox River Tuesday.

The man has been identified as David Rainford, 63, who was homeless. His body was discovered by a witness about 11:30 a.m. floating about 25 feet from shore on the west side of the river near the 700 block of South River Street, police said.

The Aurora Fire Department Dive Team and the Kane County Coroner recovered the body. There were no signs of foul play, officials said.

The Kane County Coroner's Office will perform the autopsy.
