Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame raising money for expansion

JASPER, Ind. (AP) - Organizers are trying to line up the money needed for an expansion of the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame.

The planned $180,000 project for the hall on the Vincennes University Jasper Campus would add about 1,300 square feet of space.

Hall of Fame director Ray Howard tells The Herald in Jasper (http://bit.ly/2o3qp44 ) he's had to turn down some baseball memorabilia because the hall has run out of display space.

Howard says work is underway to raise about $40,000 to go ahead with the expansion work. That includes online fundraising and selling engraved bricks near the hall's entrance.

The hall includes plaques for its 184 inductees and engraved bats representing each high school baseball state championship team since 1967.
