Nommensen's numbers: 3-0

A three-year pitcher for Warren's softball team, Hannah Nommensen chose to pass on her senior season to graduate a semester early and join North Carolina's softball team this spring.

The two-time all-conference selection sure picked a fine time to join the Tar Heels.

They are off to their best start in program history, and Nommensen has made a significant contribution with a 3-0 record on the pitcher's mound.

North Carolina captured its 20th victory out of 25 games on March 11, becoming the fastest UNC team to reach the 20-win plateau.

The Tar Heels opened the season at 20-5 in six previous seasons, most recently doing so in 2015.

The Tar Heels (now 26-8 and 7-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference) have used at least two pitchers in nearly every game, with a single pitcher going the distance in only six games.

Nine of Nommensen's 12 appearances came off the bench. She has an ERA of 2.88.

While at Warren, she was a member of the Highest Honors honor roll in all three years in high school, posting a 3.95 GPA
