Prairie Crossing school honored

Prairie Crossing Charter School in Grayslake has received a national award for its environmental education. Prairie Crossing last week received the Best of Green Schools award for K-8 buildings. The award came from the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council, in collaboration with the Green Schools National Network. The annual awards, in part, recognize 11 individuals, institutions, projects and events representing the best environmental efforts in schools across the country. Prairie Crossing Executive Director Geoff Deigan said the school was "humbled and proud" to receive the award.
