Cooper Middle School holds fundraiser at the Arlington Heights McDonald's

Cooper Middle School of School District 21 held their first McTeacher's Night at the Arlington Heights McDonald's on Dundee Road, on Wednesday, March 22. A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Wednesday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Cooper Middle School. The students and families were excited to see their teachers behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

An amazing twenty-nine teachers worked from the school including Principal Gurney and Assistant Principal Olsen. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, and clearing tables, selling pies and dressing up as a pie which were executed with great enthusiasm and huge smiles on all the faces.

A special performance by Cooper "Dynamics" group led by Jennifer Deethardt was enjoyed by all the families.

A special thank you goes to PTO President, Mike Baerson, who organized the entire event as well as everyone that worked and attended this exciting event.

The school plans to use the money raised to go into the PTO fund to help purchase basketball uniforms, soccer balls, a microphone for the cafeteria and new mirrors for the science lab.
