Lake County crash victim identified as Grayslake man

A 77-year-old man killed in a car crash Wednesday in central Lake County was identified Thursday as Richard Pearson of Grayslake.

An autopsy revealed Pearson suffered multiple injuries in the Wednesday afternoon crash at Peterson Road and Behm Lane, Lake County Coroner Howard Cooper said.

Two other people were hurt in the three-vehicle crash.

Pearson was a passenger in a 2011 Chrysler minivan driven by a 74-year-old Grayslake woman whose name has not been released by authorities.

She was injured in the collision, as were an 85-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic and a 45-year-old Wauconda man driving a 2003 GMC Sierra.

Updates on their conditions were not available.

Lake County sheriff's police say the Chrysler minivan was turning left onto Behm from eastbound Peterson when it was struck on its passenger side by the oncoming Sierra. The sheriff's office continues to investigate the crash.
