Softball: Crystal Lake South topples Rockford Boylan

Chloe Skorija threw a 3-hitter Wednesday while Emily Sulikowski had 4 hits including 2 triples as Crystal Lake South defeated Rockford Boylan 16-5 in nonconference softball action.

Skorija allowed no earned runs, struck out 4 and walked 2 in a game in which both teams committed 5 errors.

Also contributing to the offense for the Gators (2-0) were Kyra Swartz (RBI), Brittany Baker (3 hits, RBI), Carly Chovanec (RBI), Christine Toniolo (3 hits, 3B, RBI), Samantha Burgard (3 hits, 2B, RBI, Sam Schetti (2 hits, 2 RBI), Skylar Olsen (2 hits, RBI) and Maddie Bush (RBI).

Rosary 12, Lisle 9: Anna VanGundy had 3 hits including a double and 2 RBI to lead the Royals (1-1) to a nonconference win. Kaleigh Lentz added a double and 2 RBI for Rosary while Xandria Olsen (RBI), Chloe Salitjeral (2 hits, RBI), Mikayla Cassidy (RBI) and Riley McCue (2 RBI) also contributed. Sarah Willman was the winning pitcher.
