Arlington Heights trash rates going up

Refuse collection rates in Arlington Heights will increase April 1 for single-family homes, per the village's contract with Groot Industries.

Once-a-week curbside service will increase 17 cents to $17.67 per month, and twice-a-week service will increase 28 cents to $24.78 per month.

For seniors, the cost goes up 15 cents to $15.03 per month for once-a-week, and up 24 cents to $21.07 per month for twice a week, according to the village.

Landscape waste collection begins April 3. Stickers must be placed on waste bags and bundles of brush, except for those participating in the subscription program or the landscape waste/food scrap subscription program. Stickers can be purchased at local grocery and hardware stores, village hall and the Arlington Heights Senior Center.
