Lake County man wanted on 20 sex crime charges captured after manhunt

A Lake County man wanted on numerous charges alleging he sexually assaulted a child was captured Monday by the Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Team, U.S. Marshals Service - Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Park City police, authorities said.

Ending a manhunt that began Thursday, Adan N. Contreras, 57, of the 600 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue in Park City, was located inside a vehicle parked inside the garage of his home, according to the sheriff's office.

Contreras was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Park City alleging three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, three counts of criminal sexual assault, and 14 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Details of the allegations were not available Tuesday.

He remained in custody Tuesday at the Lake County jail on $1 million bail, pending a scheduled court appearance Thursday.
