Buffalo Grove grabs MSL East lead

Kevin Carr had 4 goals to help Buffalo Grove get past Elk Grove 13-3 on Monday in a matchup of Mid-Suburban East boys water polo co-leaders.

The Bison (8-1, 3-0) outscored Elk Grove 7-0 in the first period to take control of the divisional race.

Elk Grove slipped to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the East.

Barrington 14, Conant 2: Barrington won convincingly again to take control of the Mid-Suburban West race on Monday.

The Broncos improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the division with their victory against previously unbeaten Conant (4-1, 2-1).

Fremd 20, Palatine 15: In a game that was tied at the half, the host Vikings (4-3, 2-1) outscored Palatine 8-1 in the the third quarter and went on to hold off the Pirates in MSL West play.

Top scorers for Palatine were Dylan White (6 goals) and T.J. May (4).

St. Viator 8, St. Rita 6: Sophomore Tyler Coupe had 6 goals and Michael Wendling scored 2 to help the Lions past the Mustangs.

Senior goalie Tim Bansfield stopped 11 shots for St. Viator.

Schaumburg 14, Hoffman Estates 2: Michael Burke, Kyle Grubb and Matt Soltau each scored 3 goals to help the Saxons (4-5, 1-2) net their first MSL West win of the season.

Hersey 14, Rolling Meadows 2: Jack Casey scored a team-high 4 goals to help the Huskies (7-2, 2-1) stay 1 game back of East leader Buffalo Grove.
