Chicago police: Ride-share driver beaten, crashes into home

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say a driver for a ride-sharing service crashed into a home after two of his customers beat him.

Police say the 51-year-old driver was dropping off five men in a South Side neighborhood early Monday where he'd picked them up about three or four hours earlier when two of them hit him in the face.

Police say the driver accidentally hit the accelerator on the SUV and crashed. Police say the driver was treated for minor injuries to his face.

Police say one of the passengers was taken into custody and treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The other four men fled on foot.
