Arlington Heights man admits to molesting two girls

An Arlington Heights man has been sentenced to prison for molesting two sisters several times over several years, beginning when the girls were 7 or 8.

Baltazar Solorzano, 53, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, court records show. In exchange for his guilty plea, he was sentenced to three years in prison on each charge. He will serve the sentences concurrently.

Prosecutors say Solorzano and the girls attended the same Wheeling church. He repeatedly touched the girls inappropriately, kissing one of them, while they were alone with him inside his car, prosecutors said.

The girls' parents were talking with other parishioners at the time the abuse occurred, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say the girls discussed telling their parents but did not do so until July 2016, after which their mother confronted Solorzano and broke off contact with him.

A few months later, the younger sister told a teacher, authorities said. The teacher told a social worker, who alerted police.

Solorzano also was ordered to pay $1,219 in fines. He received credit for 135 days in custody.
