FBI: Naperville suspect also wanted for bank robberies in Lombard, Darien

The FBI is investigating a Wednesday morning bank robbery in Naperville involving a man who also is suspected of robbing banks in Lombard and Darien, authorities said.

The suspect entered Bank of America at 1301 E. Ogden Ave. and robbed the business at 9:02 a.m., FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said.

The suspect, who did not show a weapon, is described as a thin black man about 6 feet tall who appeared to be in his late 30s to early 40s.

Authorities said he was wearing a black-and-white White Sox baseball cap with a flat bill, sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a dark blue winter jacket.

In the wake of the robbery, police cars blocked the two entrances to the bank parking lot as investigators gathered evidence inside. Yellow crime scene tape blocked off the north side entrance to the bank as well.

On its bandittrackerchicago.com robbery information website, the FBI says the suspect also is believed to be responsible for a Jan. 13 robbery at US Bank at 45 W. Roosevelt Road in Lombard and a Jan. 30 robbery at West Suburban Bank at 8001 S. Cass Ave. in Darien.

The Bandit Tracker site lists 23 bank robberies in the Chicago area so far this year, including crimes in Elgin, Gurnee, Naperville, Schaumburg and Waukegan.
