Little Friends names new CEO

A Naperville man, Mike Briggs, has been named CEO and president of Little Friends, Inc. He began work March 8.

Briggs, 60, has been involved with Little Friends for many years, serving on the board of directors from 1988 to 1991 and again starting in 2016. He will replace Kristi Landorf, who resigned to spend more time being a mother to her two young boys.

Little Friends serves more than 800 families in the region through its Center for Autism, Krejci Academy, Bridge High School, Spectrum Vocational Services, and Include Studio.

Serving children as young as 18 months to adults in their 80s, Little Friends is nationally recognized as a comprehensive resource for families dealing with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Briggs, a longtime champion for those with disabilities, brings a wealth of business and not-for-profit experience to the helm.

"Having had a satisfying career in the private sector, I am excited about the opportunity to create successful outcomes for Little Friends' clients and their families," he said.

"At Little Friends, we empower clients with autism and other developmental disabilities to thrive in their community. Our groundbreaking programs and nationally-renowned staff provide lifelong opportunities for growth, so our clients can work, learn, play and experience the joy of life's everyday moments."

Briggs moved to Naperville in 1963 and graduated from Naperville Central High School. He and his wife, Tina, have lived in Naperville since 1984 and have two children and seven grandchildren.

He was formerly the president/COO of three separate companies in a career spanning 35 years. He has served on numerous not-for-profit boards, including as board chairman of Millikin University.
