Kane state's attorney to operate April election complaint line

The Kane County state's attorney's office will operate an election complaint hotline and will visit polling places during the April 4 election.

State's Attorney Joe McMahon said Thursday his office did not receive any complaints in the Feb. 28 primary, which was limited to a few townships.

"The results of these upcoming local elections have a great impact on everyone's lives," McMahon said. "Our staff will be available to assist election judges and voters to see that polling places are run fairly and free of unlawful activity."

McMahon said his assistants also will fan out to the 200-plus precincts.

The election complaint hotline at (630) 208-5328 will be staffed from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. The hotline is for complaints about electioneering, voter access and other issues. It is not to find a person's polling place; inquiries for voting locations can be made by calling the Kane County clerk's election help line at (630) 232-5990.
