No mumps at Arlington Heights District 25 school

Test results for a possible case of mumps at South Middle School in Arlington Heights came back negative Tuesday from the Cook County Department of Public Health, according to Arlington Heights Elementary District 25.

In a letter Friday, Superintendent Lori Bein informed parents of the possible case of mumps at the school that serves about 850 sixth- through eighth-grade students. As a precaution, maintenance workers spent Friday scrubbing all hard surfaces, including classrooms, restrooms and common touch areas, with a hospital-grade cleaner.
