District 54 appoints principal, technology coordinator

The Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 school board has shuffled principals for next school year at several schools as part of a number of personnel moves.

Tom Barbini, the current assistant principal at the district's Addams Junior High, will succeed Heather Wilson as principal of Keller Junior High School in Schaumburg on July 1. Wilson will replace Steve Kern as principal of Eisenhower Junior High in Hoffman Estates. Kern will become principal of Churchill Elementary School in Schaumburg as he succeeds Lisa Hopkins, the new special education director for the district.

Habib Behrouzi, the current district instructional coach for technology, will move up to the role of instructional technology coordinator on July 1. He was originally hired by the district as an instructional assistant at Frost Junior High in Schaumburg 12 years ago.
