How to help care for Libertyville nature preserve

Conserve Lake County will host its next monthly workday from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 11, at Liberty Prairie Nature Preserve, on Casey Road about a mile east of Route 45 in Libertyville.

On the second Saturday of each month, volunteers help with projects such as weed control, seed collecting and planting, at one of two sites owned by Libertyville Township and part of the Illinois Nature Preserve system.

Volunteers should wear jeans and boots. Tools, gloves, water, nourishment and instruction are provided. Visit www.conservelakecounty.org or call (847) 548-5989 for more information.
