Join pizza feast to benefit Aurora preschool
A pizza and pasta buffet fundraiser will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at Luigi's Pizza and Fun Center, 732 Prairie St., Aurora. The event will benefit Aurora's Wesley United Methodist Church preschool. The public is invited.
Wendy Connell, preschool director, said the menu includes all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, salad and fruit punch beverage.
Proceeds will help fund scholarships for preschool students.
Connell said "Our scholarship fund assists more than 30 percent our students. We raise more than $15,000 annually through fundraisers, gifts and donations to the scholarship fund."
The dinner will feature raffles and a silent auction. Raffle items include two Chicago Bulls tickets in VIP lounge, two tickets to "Jesus Christ Superstar" production at Paramount Arts Center in Aurora, a foursome with carts at Blackberry Golf Course, two craft-beer baskets, Chicago Blackhawks' birdhouse, kids' toy power-tool set, kids' superhero cape, dance lessons at AKA Dance Studio and an original "Star Wars" artwork by local artist Jim Tampa.
Tickets are $7, $5 for children, age 3 or older, and $20 for two adults and children in immediate family.
Tickets are available at the door or at the church, 14 N. May St. in Aurora.
Founded in 1950, the preschool provides quality early childhood learning by six teachers for 40 children ages 3-5. Classes meet from 9 to 11:45 a.m. weekdays. Tuition discounts are available for multiple children from one family.
Highlights include center-based activities, free play, art projects, group games, weekly fitness class, healthy snacks and indoor gym and outdoor playground.
