Glen Ellyn Boy Scout receives highest rank in scouting

Boy Scout Troop 575 has awarded the Eagle rank, Scouting's highest rank, to Erik Schreiber of Glen Ellyn. He is the 50th scout from the Troop to be awarded this rank. Ceremonies were held at Christ Our Savior Church in Winfield.

For his Eagle Project, Erik cleaned and restored the more than 150-year-old lampposts at St. John the Baptist Church in Winfield.

Erik joined Boy Scout Troop 575 in 2009, coming from Glen Ellyn Cub Scout Pack 55. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow, the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America.

Erik is a 2016 graduate of Glenbard South High School in Glen Ellyn and is studying culinary arts at the College of DuPage.
