Lightning more deadly than terrorists
According to NOAA, deaths from lightning have killed, on average, 51 people over the last 20 years. Over a thirteen year period this would be 663 people.
According to the Global Terrorism Data base, which is supported by our DHS, over the 13-year period from 2002 through 2014, 61 people died from terrorist attacks. This includes the perpetrators. Eight of them were not US citizens, so the number of citizens killed on our soil was 53.
Lightening kills 12.5 times as many people as terrorists.
Instead of spending huge amounts of taxpayer money on border security and immigration bans, I think we might consider using this money to develop “great and wonderful” lightning rods!
