Brunner scores 18 points; Arizona edges Arizona State 62-58

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Sophie Brunner scored 18 points, Quinn Dornstauder added 15 and Arizona edged Arizona State 62-58 on Friday night.

Arizona (13-13, 4-11 Pac-12) has won consecutive games since snapping a seven-game losing streak, including four to ranked teams.

Breanna Workman and LaBrittney Jones scored 15 points apiece to lead Arizona State (16-10, 7-8), which has lost six of its last eight games.

Arizona's LaBrittney Jones forced a turnover and then made a pair of free throws to stretch the Wildcats' lead to 59-56 with 49 seconds remaining. Sophie Brunner made a jumper on the Sun Devils' next possession, and Lauren Evans answered with a jump shot to make it 61-58 with 15 seconds to go.

Arizona State's Reili Richardson missed a 3-pointer with four seconds left.

The Sun Devils used an 8-0 spurt to take a 36-33 lead midway through the third quarter. Neither team led by more than three points until Malena Washington's free throw capped the scoring.
