Take part in ABC's Bag Hunger Food Drive

ABC Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electric has joined hands with several local food pantries in the area for its third annual "Bag Hunger" campaign.

For four consecutive weeks, service technicians will be collecting food items from customers and, as a thank you for their generosity, ABC will be offering those customers up to $25 in discounts from their bill.

This time of year, food banks run dangerously low on every day essentials like soup, tuna and canned meats. The campaign began Tuesday, Feb. 14, and will run through Tuesday, March 14, and every ABC technician will be provided with a collection bag for nonperishable food items.

When having service performed, customers will have the opportunity to receive $5 off their bill, per item donated, up to $25. This discount can be used in addition to any other coupons customers might have. At the end of the month, the collected items will be distributed among several local food pantries in the communities ABC serves.

"We strive to leave each customer's home in better shape than when we arrived," said Gordon Schroll, president of ABC. "With this program, we now have a chance to help leave the communities we serve in better shape as well."

ABC is family-owned and operated, and has been servicing the Chicago area for more than 65 years. They specialize in plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical service; repairs and replacements. They can be reached 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and always have live operators answering the phone.

ABC is fully licensed, bonded and insured, guarantees their upfront prices, and provides homeowners with an email profile of the serviceman coming to their home.
