District 129 Fine Arts Festival scheduled for Saturday, March 4

West Aurora Unit District 129 invites the community to its annual Fine Arts Festival from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at West Aurora High School, 1201 W. New York St., Aurora.

The free festival features music, song, dance, paintings, sculpture and other artwork from students, kindergarten through high school, attending all district schools. View student artwork throughout the first floor halls of West Aurora High School. Be sure to visit the Sauk Gallery to see select artwork from District 129 students.

Live performances will occur in four venues.

In the cafeteria, the West High Jazz Band will perform at 10 a.m., Fearn second-grade dancers at 11 a.m., District 129 Eighth-Grade Festival Choir at noon, Nicholson Drum Club at 1 p.m., and West High Stage Band at 1:30 p.m.

In the main gym, the Smith School El Sistema Orchestra will perform at 10 a.m., West High Symphonic Winds at 10:30 a.m., West High Wind Ensemble at 11:30 a.m., Jefferson and Washington seventh-grade band with the West High Wind Symphony at 1 p.m., and Herget and Jewel seventh-grade band with the West High Wind Symphony at 2 p.m.

On the auditorium stage, the McCleery Choir will perform at 10 a.m., Washington Mixed Choir at 10:30 a.m., West High Madrigal Singers at 11 a.m., Goodwin Choir at 11:30 a.m., Greenman Singers at noon, Freeman fifth-grade choir show at 12:30 p.m., Jefferson eighth-grade choir at 1 p.m., Hall Chorale at 1:30 p.m., and Hill School fourth- and fifth-grade honor choir at 2 p.m.

In the library, Schneider Singers will perform at 10 a.m., Smith School third- and fourth-grade choir at 10:30 a.m., Herget Honors Choir at 11 a.m., Middle School Solo and Ensemble Honor Events at 11:30 a.m., Hope Wall School at 12:30 p.m., Jewel eighth-grade choir at 1 p.m., and West High STUDyhall and Acabelles at 1:30 p.m.
