Gurnee Park District earns finance award
For the 19th year in a row, the Gurnee Park District has received an honor for its work in governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting was awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the park district's comprehensive annual financial report. It is a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, according to the park district.
The financial report is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read it.
