Thortons unveils new food stores

ELMHURST - Thorntons is bringing its new expanded food concept to market with four new stores in 2016, and 16 more planned for the near future.

Real Kitchen Real Food offers hot menu items, including breakfast and lunch burritos, salted pretzels, and pepperoni pizza sticks, prepared fresh in about three minutes. Recently opened Thorntons Real Kitchen Real Food stores are at W. Lake Street and N. York Road in Elmhurst, 127th and Vincennes Road in Blue Island, Route 6 & I-55 in Channahon and Green Bay and Grand Avenue in Waukegan.

In recognition for its efforts throughout the region, the village of Algonquin recently awarded Thorntons with the 2016 New Development Architectural Award, noting the local store's high-quality architectural design, community integration and top-notch service.

Thorntons also offers Unleaded15 renewable fuel at 22 stores in the area. Unleaded15 is a low cost, ethanol fuel option, which has the potential to offer improved engine performance and efficiency, and has been proven to reduce harmful emissions compared to gasoline.
