MBRE brokers lease for new First Midwest HQ

CHICAGO - MB Real Estate has completed an 80,000 square foot lease on behalf of First Midwest Bancorp for its proposed new headquarters at 8750 West Bryn Mawr Ave. in Chicago.

First Midwest announced in January that it was moving its operations to the O'Hare corridor from Itasca.

Andrew Davidson, Jay Beadle, and David Burkards of the firm's Corporate Services & Tenant Advisory division represented First Midwest. Building ownership was represented by Newmark Grubb Knight Frank.

First Midwest President and CEO Michael L. Scudder said the decision to move came out of a desire to be more centrally located, improve internal collaboration and help retain and attract top talent, and accommodate the bank's growth strategies.

Davidson said there were many factors that influenced First Midwest's choice to move to Triangle Plaza, but the convenient location for both suburban and downtown employees, along with the opportunity for signage along I-90, played especially important roles in the bank's decision.
