Mundelein High School creating Distinguished Alumni Awards

Mundelein High School is creating a new annual awards program to honor its alumni who've gone on to success in a variety of ways after graduation.

"There are so many MHS graduates who have gone on to do great things in their careers, in their communities and their families," Mundelein High School District 120 Superintendent Kevin Myers said in a news release. "It's time that we find ways to recognize and honor the things that our alumni are doing."

School staff members have created a Distinguished Alumni Award and recognition program to begin this year. The awards will honor up to 10 graduates each year.

The first Distinguished Alumni Awards Banquet will take place Saturday, Nov. 4, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Mundelein. Nominations for eligible graduates (those who have been out of high school for at least 10 years) are now being taken. Eligible alumni may be nominated by others and they may also nominate themselves. The deadline for nominating alumni is May 15.
