WACO, Texas (AP) - Alexis Jones scored 16 points while playing with a swollen and blackened right eye as second-ranked Baylor stretched its winning streak to 17 games with a 79-73 win Saturday over 24th-ranked West Virginia.

West Virginia (15-5, 3-5) scored seven straight points in the fourth quarter, with Katrina Pardee making a jumper and then a 3-pointer with just under 6 minutes left to cut the gap to 65-61.

But Alexis Prince then made a layup after chasing down the loose ball of her own missed 3 for Baylor (19-1, 8-0 Big 12). Jones, who was head-butted by an Iowa State player in Wednesday night's game, stretched the lead to a jumper and finished 7-of-14 shooting.

Nina Davis had 15 points and nine rebounds, and Kalani Brown scored 13 points for Baylor. Prince finished with 10 points, six rebound and five assists.

Teana Muldrow had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead West Virginia.

No. 12 TEXAS 77, TEXAS TECH 57

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Joyner Holmes scored 13 points and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds to lead Texas to a victory over Texas Tech for its 12th straight win.

Texas extends its program-best Big 12 Conference start to 8-0. The Longhorns opened conference play 5-0 three times, the latest during the 2015-16 season.

Brooke McCarty had 14 points and Ariel Atkins added 13 for Texas (14-4, 8-0), which swept the season series against Texas Tech (11-7, 3-4) for the fourth consecutive year.

Jada Terry scored 15 points to lead the Red Raiders, who have lost two straight by double digits. Dayo Olabode added 10 points.

Texas had a double-digit lead late in the first quarter and built a 42-26 halftime lead. The Longhorns had their largest lead, 74-47 with six minutes to play.

MARQUETTE 102, No. 19 DEPAUL 101, OT

CHICAGO (AP) - Danielle King had 27 points, Allazia Blockton scored 24 points and Marquette beat DePaul.

Erika Davenport added 19 points for the Golden Eagles (16-4, 7-2 Big East) and scored the go-ahead basket on a layup that capped the scoring with 59 seconds left.

Marquette's Shantelle Valentine stole it from Jacqui Grant with 38 seconds left and the Blue Demons (16-5, 8-1) let Marquette run down the shot clock until Davenport missed a jumper. DePaul had a chance for the win but Grant missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.

It was the Golden Eagles' first win in six tried against the Blue Demons.

Marquette never led from the first quarter until Davenport's basket made it 100-99 with 1:36 left in OT. Brooke Schulte, who had 35 points for the Blue Demons, fouled out on the play although Davenport missed the free throw.

Blockton hit a jumper at the regulation buzzer that forced overtime for Marquette.

Grant added 27 points for DePaul.

IOWA STATE 75, No. 22 KANSAS STATE 69

AMES, Iowa (AP) - Jadda Buckley scored 21 points, Seanna Johnson totaled 13 points, eight rebounds and a career-high nine assists and Iowa State got its first victory against a ranked team in over a year with a win over Kansas State.

Iowa State led 48-44 heading into the fourth quarter and stayed in front until a pair of free throws from Karyla Middlebook gave the Wildcats a 58-57 lead with 5:19 remaining. Bridget Carleton put the Cyclones up for good with her fourth 3-pointer, as Buckley and Johnson coupled to make all eight free-throw attempts in the final 30 seconds to seal it.

Buckley and Carleton combined to make 7 of 11 3-pointers for Iowa State (11-8, 2-6 Big 12). The Cyclones made 8 of 12 from the field and 9 of 9 free throws in the fourth quarter and shot 51 percent from the field (26 of 51) overall.

Kaylee Page and Breanna Lewis each had 14 points for Kansas State (15-5, 5-3).

Iowa State last defeated a ranked team on Dec. 11, 2015, with a 69-66 win over Iowa.
