Library's Teen Job Fair Coming in February

A Teen Job Fair for teens ages 15-19 will take place from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Representatives from many local companies looking to hire teens will be available to answer questions and discuss potential job opportunities. Teens seeking volunteer opportunities can meet with representatives from various organizations. The job fair will also include workshops on writing resumes and cover letters, as well as strategies for successfully handling a job interview. No fee or registration is required for attending the Teen Job Fair. Interested teens may drop in anytime during the job fair's hours.

Prior to the Teen Job Fair, the library will hold two programs designed to help teens get the most out of a job fair and improve their job search skills. "Job Search Skills for Teens" is scheduled from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7 in the Central Rasmussen Room. Career Coach Bob Podgorski will provide strategies for finding a job and offer assistance with resume writing. Registration is required for this free program. To register, call (847) 923-3240 or visit the Teen Desk on the library's second floor.

"How to Work a Teen Job Fair" will take place from 7-8:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 20 in Teen Place at the Central Library in Schaumburg. Teens will discover ways to make the most of the library's Teen Job Fair. The session is designed to boost confidence and prepare teens for approaching managers and other representatives at the job fair. Registration is required for this free program. To register, call (847) 923-3240 or visit the Teen Desk on the library's second floor.
