Vernon Hills snaps streak with OT victory against Highland Park

Luke Perlin scored 22 points, Jack Forester added 20, and Vernon Hills' boys basketball team outlasted visiting Highland Park 68-63 in overtime Friday night in Central Suburban League North Division action.

Vernon Hills (4-19) had lost 11 games in a row.

Perlin shot 9 of 13 from the floor, including 4 of 8 from three-point range. Forester was 7-of-11 shooting, including 6 of 9 from beyond the arc. Payton Foster contributed 12 points for the Cougars, and Derrick Jones had 9 points and 10 rebounds.

Grayslake North 56, Antioch 43: The visiting Knights trailed 28-27 at halftime but outscored the Sequoits 15-11 in the third quarter and 14-4 in the fourth to pull out the Northern Lake County Conference game.

Grayslake North improved to 13-4 and 5-1 in the NLCC.

Antioch (6-10, 2-5) got 24 points from Dan Filippone, who hit two 3-pointers. Andrew Hared added 8 for the Sequoits.
