Texas Tech women hold off No. 18 West Virginia 75-66

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) - Recee' Caldwell scored 21 points and Texas Tech had a 17-point lead erased in the fourth quarter but recovered with a 10-2 run to close out a 75-66 upset win over No. 18 West Virginia on Wednesday night.

Ivonne Cook-Taylor added 17 points and Arella Guirantes scored 14. The Red Raiders (11-5, 3-2 Big 12) led 56-39 with 9:41 left before the Mountaineers (14-3, 2-3) scored 10 straight and later tied it at 60-all with 3:02 left.

But Texas Tech never let West Virginia take the lead.

The teams tied again at 62, Caldwell's 3-pointer made it 65-62 and Teana Muldrow closed the gap to one with a jumper which was as close as West Virginia would get.

Lanay Montgomery had 18 points, Tynice Martin scored 17 and Katrina Pardee added 10. West Virginia lost its third of the last four after opening the season with 13 straight wins.
