State's attorney will be guest reader

Lake County State's Attorney Michael Nerheim will be the guest reader at the "Readers are Leaders" event for children from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the North Chicago Health Center, 2215 14th St. Nerheim was invited to participate by the Lake County Health Department, which is committed to the 30-Million-Word Campaign. The initiative encourages parents to read more to their children, because there is a direct correlation between early verbal experiences in childhood and later achievement. Games and fun activities also will be provided during the event.
