Rolling Meadows back on winning track

Rolling Meadows' boys basketball team got back to its winning ways by topping Schaumburg 54-42 in a Mid-Suburban League divisional crossover matchup Tuesday.

The host Mustangs had their best scoring output in the fourth quarter, during which Rolling Meadows outscored the Saxons 20-11.

Senior Jared Murphy led all scorers with 19 points for Meadows, which has won five of its last six.

Liam Brigham contributed 17 points, and Jack Schoessling and Gio Carrillo had 8 apiece for the Mustangs (7-8).

Kameron Powell had 17 points to lead Schaumburg (7-8), and Heze Trotter finished with 12.

Buffalo Grove 52, Hoffman Estates 38: Mac Camardo (21 points) and Jack Vaselaney (11) led the offensive effort as the host Bison won their MSL crossover to claim a fourth straight win.

Caleb Mayhorn, Colin Calcagno, Zach Fricke and Vaselaney each had one 3 for Buffalo Grove (10-6), and Demetri Lomnick finished with 9 points.

Adrian Punzalan made three 3s and finished with a team-best 12 points for Hoffman Estates (6-8), which was limited to 3 free throw attempts.

Highland Park 75, Maine West 70 (OT): In their first action since completing play in Wheeling's Hardwood Classic, the visiting Warriors (9-6) came up short in a Central Suburban North matchup.
