GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (AP) - The Illinois High School Association is trying to attract lacrosse officials and is inviting those interested to attend an educational event next week.

The IHSA is preparing for its first state series tournament for lacrosse.

The seminar will teach the basics of lacrosse officiating. The event will be held Sunday at the field house at Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn.

Their overview will explore IHSA requirements for officials, explain key differences between boys' and girls' lacrosse games and close with two controlled scrimmages during which attendees can observe techniques and pose questions.
