SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) - Napheesa Collier scored 20 points, Gabby Williams had 19 points, 12 rebounds and six assists and No. 1 Connecticut beat No. 2 Notre Dame 72-61 on Wednesday night for its 83rd straight victory.

The Huskies (8-0) trailed briefly in late in the second quarter, but played with the lead most of the game as they controlled the inside, outscoring the Irish 42-30 in the paint and finishing with a 35-32 edge in rebounding.

Brianna Turner led the Irish (8-1) with 16 points and 12 rebounds, and Lindsay Allen added 11 points.

After Notre Dame tied it at 42 with just under 2 minutes left in the third quarter, the Huskies forced a pair of turnovers leading to layups by Katie Lou Samuelson and Williams. Collier added a pair of free throws to give Connecticut led 50-43 at the end of the third quarter.

The Huskies stretched it to 65-54 on a 3-point play by Samuelson with 3:06 left to put the game away.

UConn's last loss was 88-86 in overtime to Stanford on Nov. 17, 2014.

NO. 11 WASHINGTON 101, CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE 44

SEATTLE (AP) - National scoring leader Kelsey Plum had 30 points, and freshman Aarion McDonald added 23 in her first start for Washington.

Plum needs 23 points to break Chiney Ogwumike's Pac 12 record of 2,737. The Huskies (9-1) hit 100 points for the fifth time, matching the 1981-82 team for the most in a season.

Chantel Osahor had 10 points and 20 rebounds.

Serafina Maulupe led Northridge (4-5) with 15 points.

NO. 12 OHIO STATE 108, SOUTHERN 73

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Kelsey Mitchell scored 23 points to reach 2,000 points in an NCAA women's-record 78 games, and Ohio State routed Southern.

Mitchell reached the milestone with a pair of free throws with 3:54 to play.

Freshman Tori McCoy scored a career-high 25 points for the Buckeyes (7-3).

Skylar O'Bear had 19 points for Southern (2-3).

NO. 20 SYRACUSE 76, COPPIN STATE 30

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Alexis Peterson had 16 points and nine assists for Syracuse.

Brittney Sykes added 12 points for the Orange (7-3). They led 26-2 after one period and 43-7 at the half. Tiara Goode led Coppin State (0-8) with 15 points, all on 3-pointers.

NO. 25 VIRGINIA TECH 81, CENTRAL CONNECTICUT 47

BLACKSBURG, Va. (AP) - Sidney Cook had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Regan Magarity added 15 points and 15 rebounds for Virginia Tech.

Virginia Tech (9-0) won its second straight game since being ranked in the Top 25 on Monday for the first time since 2006. Aleah Epps led Central Connecticut (1-7) with 16 points.
