1 held after shot fired at Chicago police; no injuries

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police say one person is in custody after a shot was fired at officers in the city's University Village neighborhood.

No one was hurt in Thursday morning's shooting, which according to police is the sixth time that Chicago officers were fired upon since late November. It happened as officers investigated a report of a person with a gun near the University of Illinois-Chicago campus.

On Tuesday, one person was taken into custody after shots were fired at officers in the city's Gresham neighborhood.

Among the other recent shootings, a domestic violence suspect was fatally shot by Chicago police after he fired at them during a foot chase on Nov. 27. Police say two officers were injured, including one with an apparent graze wound from a bullet.
