Aunt Svea's Pressed Oatmeal Cookies

1 pound butter (4 sticks)

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 cups quick oats

2 cups flour

Powdered sugar

Cream sugar and butter with mixer. Add vanilla and then mix in flour. Stir in oats and chill dough slightly.

Roll into 1 inch balls and press with glass wrapped in paper towel.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes until lightly golden.

Dust with powdered sugar while still warm.

(This dough freezes well.)

Makes about 3 dozen cookies
