Local example of why 'lockbox' passed

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is for Toni Preckwinkle to drive up and down Lake-Cook Road from Rt 53, east to the Tri-state Tollway a few times.

And Santa, please ask her not to use a county vehicle. We taxpayers already pay enough for the damage caused to our vehicles, due to the unfilled pot holes, the overfilled pot holes and the underfilled pot holes.

She already dug up parts of Lake-Cook Road to make us think she was fixing it, turning it into a major washboard, leaving behind 30-year-old pavement that immediately began to break up.

No wonder the Transportation "lockbox" passed with a huge plurality, in spite of the Herald opposition. Obviously the staff of the Herald does not drive on our roads and highways.
